About dr day hong ma

Dr Day Hong Ma is registered with the Medical Council of Australia as both a Vocationally Registered GP and a Specialist General Surgeon. He completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Adelaide, is a Fellow of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of Edinburgh and London, and holds a Master’s degree in Skin Cancer Medicine from the University of Queensland.

That surgical background sets him apart in general practice. Dr Ma has been a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland and an Assistant Professor at Bond University teaching medical students, a supervisor for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners training junior GPs, and has trained many overseas-trained doctors.

His first special interest is skin cancer. He performs skin cancer checks using MoleMax imaging and dermoscopy, holds a Professional Diploma of Dermoscopy from the International Dermoscopy Society, and carries out surgical excision of complex skin cancers including melanoma — as well as non-surgical treatment of some cancers and precancerous lesions through photodynamic therapy, cautery and curettage. His second is cosmetic medicine, including micro-needling and injectables, trained through the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine and Australian Skin Skills Education and Training. Dr Ma also speaks Mandarin Chinese.
