At My Doctors Clinic Surfers Paradise, our general practitioners care for babies, children, teenagers, adults and older Australians, as well as the visitors, students and working holiday makers who pass through the Gold Coast every week.
General practice and family medicine is where most health care starts. Your GP diagnoses and treats everyday illness, checks and manages long-term conditions, keeps vaccinations up to date, and refers you to specialists or allied health providers when you need them. Because pathology collection and a pharmacy sit in the same building, many families can have their consult, blood test and prescription sorted in one trip.
We are a predominantly bulk billing medical centre, open 7 days and 365 days a year in the Piazza on the Boulevard building on Surfers Paradise Boulevard. Walk-ins are welcome, or you can book an appointment with the GP of your choice.

What is the difference between a GP and a specialist?
A general practitioner, or GP, is a specialist in general practice. GPs are trained to look after the whole person at every stage of life, diagnose a wide range of problems and manage most of them without a referral. When you need more specialised care, such as a cardiologist or dermatologist, your GP writes a referral, which is also what allows Medicare to pay a rebate towards specialist fees.
Can I see a GP while I am on holiday in Surfers Paradise?
Yes. Holidaymakers from other parts of Australia can use their Medicare card here as they would at home, and overseas visitors can book a private appointment and pay on the day. Should my family see the same GP every time?
